This 2024, keep going!

In 2023, I met the vulnerable inner me but yet the strongest. Before the year starts, here is a little motivation to keep going no matter what. 

The best time to go to school, finish that degree, look for that dream job, start the gym, start saving, start your business, start your NGO, date that guy who has been pursuing you-yes you-forgive that person, love life, get your favourite pet, go to that movie airing, or whatever...is now. You have already missed a lot of opportunities because you were regrouping and re structuring, you can go for it now.

In 2023, I didn't have a job, i happened to wake up to my voluntary post like all my colleagues who kept theirs. I bet you thought i had it right? ; ) why? I had a positive mentality, i woke up freshened up and got dressed, prayed to GOD that i make out today with a new skill and a connection. I had terrible mornings, terrible ones that i would cry before getting out of bed, but soon after the shower, GOD carried me to another day after another, i had asked Him to. I had mornings where i thought of switching my phone and not be reachable again, but you know what depression does to a young person right?

I got hurt mainly by things not said to my face, but things i over head. I had been served with voice notes of someone i trusted with my career, who said i was no longer suitable for mentorship because i no longer deliver like i used to and the likes, but i never backed down. I was treated in a way no adult could measure, the indirect insults and mistreatment in a work space, at times you would tell who is the favourite and who isn't. I had days where i would do extra work and help everyone, but would still be considered not enough because of whatever. But before you even conclude my passage, i now own my little safe heaven, my NGO, my baby. I own a business, my business!

In 2024, try, try harder, better than yesterday. And never forget, people are so busy, no one has a job for you nor post, no one has money to keep supporting you, no one has the time to keep listening to your sob stories. You have been volunteering enough, you have been home enough doing pretty nothing, you have been postponing the gym far too long, you have already saved, buy that car, buy that house, for time waits for no one, and no one is coming for you, to save you!

The state of family planning commodities in Eswatini

According to UNFPA The contraceptive prevalence rate in the country is high (66%) and the unmet need for family planning currently stands at 15%. Family planning is limited, abortion laws are restrictive and most pregnancies are unplanned [18,19]. In 2015, the unmet need for contraception was 15.2% among currently married women in Eswatini.  The kinds of birth control that work the best to prevent pregnancy are the implant and IUDs — they're also the most convenient to use, and the most foolproof. Other birth control methods, like the pill, ring, patch, and shot, are also really good at preventing pregnancy if you use them perfectly. The unmet need for family planning stands at 15.2% among women aged 15-49, and is higher among adolescents at 28.6%, and highest among the poorest, rural-based and least educated young women. I am filled with a renewed sense of strength and purpose. Knowing that I carry within me the resilience to bounce back from challenges fuels my passion for making a difference. With the support of the Country Coordinating Mechanism, we delved into meaningful deliberations.
